Great Dane

Great Danes are considered one of the tallest dog breeds along with the Irish Wolfhound. More recently, Great Danes have been in the Guinness World Records for tallest dog. The Great Dane was named the state dog of Pennsylvania in 1965.

The Great Dane is a gentle giant. Dignified, kind, sweet and affectionate, it is playful and patient with children. It loves everyone and needs to be around people. The Great Dane does not bark much and only becomes aggressive when the circumstances require it.

The Great Dane Adoption Society never refuses to take in any Great Dane in need of rehoming, regardless of the severity of their health or behaviour except when their quality of life is already irreversibly compromised . However due to the large amount of Danes in need of rehoming we do need to operate a waiting list as our resources are limited.
